Join us to commemorate

On Tuesday 11 November, join Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch for its 2025 Remembrance Day service to honour all who have served and sacrificed for their nation. 

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting with Germany in World War I. It’s a time for us to remember all who have given their lives in service, including in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. 

The 2025 Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch Remembrance Day ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post, and the observance of a minute's silence at 11am.  

RSL Queensland stands alongside veterans and their families across the country and recognises the invaluable contribution of all Defence Force personnel. 

Join us for the 2025 Remembrance Day Commemorative Service, hosted by the Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch, as we come together to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of Australia’s military personnel—past and present.

Date: Tuesday, 11 November 2025

Time:

• 10:15am – Meet and Greet

• 10:45am – Formal Service Commences

Location: The Cenotaph, Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise, QLD

Post-Service: Light refreshments will be served at Club Paradise (formerly Diggers and Sports Club)

Highlights of the Service Include:

• Traditional proceedings including the laying of wreaths, The Last Post, The Rouse, and a minute’s silence

• Performance of the Australian National Anthem

• Guest Speaker: Garth Callender, CEO of Bravery Trust

• Master of Ceremonies: Greg Pike CSM, Honorary Secretary Gold Coast Legacy

• Participation from local veterans’ groups, civic leaders, members of the Australian Defence Force, and the TS Tyalgum Naval Cadets as the Catafalque Party and Flag Bearers

This annual event is a meaningful opportunity for the community to reflect, remember, and show gratitude. All are welcome to attend—veterans, families, residents, and visitors alike.
