3rd Brigade Human Performance Framework
The Human Performance Framework is a 3rd Brigade initiative that is designed to enhance the resilience of our soldiers and their families. The framework builds resilience by delivering welfare services, personal and professional development, recovery and rehabilitation, community engagement and education services. RSL Queensland is proud to be the Major Support Partner of this ground-breaking initiative that is delivered across three centres within the Brigade.
Soldier Recovery Centre
Geckos Family Welfare Centre - provides family welfare, employment services (highly important to the North Queensland region that is challenged by high unemployment rates), physical training and community engagement activities for Defence families. It recognises that soldier resilience is built upon strong family and community support.
Vasey Resilience Centre – among the first of its kind in the country, the centre recognises that enabling soldiers to realise their full potential builds resilience and reduces their risk of physical, mental and moral injuries that degrade capability, and which ultimately affect more than just the soldier, extending to their family, the unit and the community.
– delivers focused programs for wounded, injured and ill soldiers. These programs are designed to assist soldiers to rehabilitate and return to work either within Defence or in civilian employment. It recognises that wounded, injured and ill soldiers need focussed assistance to enhance their resilience and to enable their recovery and reintegration.
RSL Queensland’s involvement in this framework not only supports the concept of ‘prehabilitation’ and welfare support to Defence families involved in a uniquely challenging employment, but it also enables RSL interaction with personnel during the course of their career and promotes both the professional and personal development of our soldiers.
