South East Queensland Tour Dates
Iconic Australian songwriter Fred Smith will be bringing his ‘Sparrows of Kabul’ show to SE Queensland in August with dates in Brisbane, Maleny, Pomona, Collum and Eudlo.
Smith worked for DFAT in Uruzgan province alongside members from 1RAR in 2009, and 6RAR and 2SER through the difficult summer of 2010. On return, he released a CD called Dust of Uruzgan.
The album earned rave reviews, and along with his public performances and two books from his Afghanistan experience is raising public awareness of the gritty realities for soldiers on the ground in Afghanistan.
Some of Smith’s songs pay tribute to fallen Queensland based soldiers Ben Ranaudo, Darren Smith, Jacob Moerland, Jared 'Crash' McKinney (Sunshine Coast), Grant Kirby, and Tomas Dale.
