Scootaville
Legacy Charity Ride
If you're feeling like some adventure this year, consider switching gears and nominating to ride in this year’s Scootaville – in Queensland!
Following the tremendous success of the previous year, which raised $30,200 for Legacy, the ambition is high with a fundraising target of $100,000. These funds will support Legacy and the Air Force Association in their efforts to assist families of lost or injured service members as well as homeless veterans.
Adding to the excitement, cricket greats Merv Hughes and Ian Healy will be joining part of the Queensland journey. Trevor Benneworth, the Scootaville organiser, shared his enthusiasm.
“Having Merv and Ian with us is fantastic. Their presence not only highlights the event but also the important causes we’re riding for,” he said.
Scootaville 2024 is open to both riders and supporters. A motorcycle license is required for riders, but the event organisers have everything else covered, including scooters, jackets, helmets, bedding, overnight accommodation and most meals.
Queensland Route:
The Queensland adventure kicks off in Chermside on 30 August, passing through Warwick, Goondiwindi and Gayndah among other locations, before concluding in Townsville. This leg spans over 2,527 km of Australia’s scenic routes across 20 days.
If you are interested in taking part in ‘Scootaville’, then please email Trevor at trev@radschool.org.au for further information.
