Rec Connect - BBQ Workshop
RSL Rec Connect – Meet, move and make for a more connected life!
RSL Rec Connect helps veterans and their families connect through a diverse calendar of recreational events. RSL Rec Connect events are held throughout the year in various locations across Queensland. Veterans, current serving Defence members, and their partners and children aged over 16 are welcome to attend this event.
This workshop is run by veteran and BBQ enthusiast Deniz from Smokey McBBQ, who will teach the fundamentals of operating and managing smokers and grills. Deniz will demonstrate many barbecue techniques as well as sharing tips and tricks from making the pickles to selecting the right mince!
Following the demonstrations, all attendees will enjoy a BBQ lunch of Reverse Seared Cheeseburgers and Vortex Chicken Wings!
Two session times will be hosted, please register for 1 session only.
Requirements:
- This activity is open to ADF Veterans, current serving Defence members, their partners and children over 16 years of age.
- This is an alcohol-free event and dietary requirements cannot be catered for.
- You do not need to be a member of the RSL to attend.
Please note that prior to the event, you will be required to complete an RSL Queensland waiver. All attendees will be unable to participate without completing the waiver.
