National Volunteer Week
Celebrating those who help us achieve more
While we're thankful every day for the role volunteers play in our communities, we'll be shining an extra bright light on their dedication and commitment to making their communities stronger from 16 - 22 May as part of National Volunteer Week (NVW).
An annual initiative of Volunteering Queensland, this year's theme 'Better Together' reminds us all that together we can achieve more. Volunteers are the heart and soul of RSL Queensland, and without them we simply could not function. And so, we say thank you to the thousands of people – both RSL Queensland members, non-members and partners – who support veterans and their families in your communities.
This week gives us the perfect reason to highlight volunteer stories and celebrate all that they do. And we do this knowing there's more we need to do to support our Sub Branch volunteers. So, while we celebrate during National Volunteer Week, it doesn't stop there. We'll keep aiming to help you in practical ways, every day.
Thanking our thousands of volunteers
RSL Queensland provides vital services to veterans and their families, and much of this work could not happen without thousands of passionate volunteers across the state. RSL Queensland State President Major General Stephen Day DSC AM and a selection of RSL Queensland staff came together to say 'thank you' to the volunteers who give so much to support veterans and their families in their local communities.
National Volunteer Week shines a light on the ways volunteering brings us all together, builds community and recognises the vital work of volunteers. Find your local RSL Sub Branch and become a member of RSL Queensland, or learn about other volunteering opportunities at volunteeringqld.org.au.
