Maryborough Middle East Veterans' Day

We will be hosting a Middle East Veterans’ Day service at the Cenotaph, Queens Park Maryborough on Friday 11th July commencing at 10.00am.

Middle East Veterans Day is very important to us as:

• There is a high number of young veterans including Middle East veterans in our community.
• Our nation’s participation came at a terrible cost with many lives lost across various campaigns in the Middle East. Many service personnel returned home with long-lasting physical and mental injuries and said they felt isolated, particularly those returning to regional Australia.
• Recognition of our younger veterans shows that their contribution is important and that the mistakes of the past poor recognition of our veterans is not repeated.

Community morning tea in the park provided by the Lions Club.
