Currumbin/Palm Beach Empowered Journeys Luncheon - Women Beyond Defence

Join us for the Empowered Journeys Luncheon – Women Beyond Defence on Friday, 13th June 2025 at the beautiful Waterside Events, Currumbin RSL.

This inspiring afternoon will honour and celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women who have transitioned from military service into impactful roles across our communities and industries. Guests will hear from a lineup of powerful speakers as they share their personal journeys and professional successes beyond defence.

Inspiring Guest Speakers include:

Jennifer Jefferies – A globally recognised speaker, Jennifer’s military career was cut short due to her sexuality. Now, she travels the world empowering audiences with insights on leadership, resilience, and authenticity.

Sarah Watson – After serving 19 years in the Australian Army, including overseas deployments, Sarah was medically discharged. She went on to become a world champion triathlete, winning the 2024 World Triathlon Duathlon Championship in her age group. A former Invictus Games competitor, she proudly brought home five golds, and two silver medals at the 2017 Invictus Games

Matina Jewell – A Decorated Veteran with 15 years of military service, Matina is the only Australian to have received two Republic of Lebanon war medals for acts of bravery in combat. Wounded in action, she transitioned into becoming an International Leadership & Resilience Keynote Speaker, guiding teams to build resilience and thrive through change.

Master of Ceremonies
Cherisa Pearce - An Army veteran with 21 years of service, which included three deployments to Timor-Leste. Cherisa is currently serving as a non-executive director on the Currumbin Palm Beach RSL Sub-branch, an RSL Australia Ambassador, the Chair of the Veterans' Support Centre (VSC), and is committed to the well-being of the veteran community. 

Tickets are $95+BF per person and includes a refreshing cocktail on arrival, delicious two-course meal plus a two-hour drink package!
