The Gold Coast SUNS have revealed the club’s 2025 ANZAC guernsey to be worn in the Round 7 ANZAC Round match against the Sydney Swans at People First Stadium.

The SUNS will once again join forces with RSL Queensland to commemorate and honour the contributions of more than 1.5 million Australians, both past and present, who have served our country in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

This year’s design features the club’s new logo, surrounded by an assortment of red poppies – a commemorative flower of remembrance.

A sprig of rosemary is prominently featured closest to the heart, representing the wild rosemary that grows in riches along the Gallipoli peninsula whilst also signifying remembrance for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in conflict.

The 2025 ANZAC badge also features on the chest as well as the words “Lest we Forget” on the back of the guernsey.

SUNS forward Ben King joined Currumbin/Palm Beach RSL Sub Branch members and current serving Australian Defence Force members at the iconic Elephant Rock in Currumbin to unveil this year’s ANZAC guernsey.

“ANZAC Round is always one we look forward to playing in and it’s not lost on us just how special the round is to so many people,” King said.

“Having the chance to speak to several veterans here at Elephant Rock was incredible. I love the design of this year’s ANZAC guernsey, especially the touch of rosemary on the chest.

“It’s an occasion I know our SUNS community look forward to as well. We all find that extra gear out on the field, so it’s a great opportunity to host our match in ANZAC Round this season at People First Stadium.”

RSL Queensland State President Major General Stephen Day DSC AM encouraged all Queenslanders to attend their local service on ANZAC Day and show their support at the SUNS’ ANZAC Round match.

“We’re encouraging all generations to come together this ANZAC Day and commemorate in their community,” MAJGEN Day said.

“Wherever you’ll be this ANZAC Day, whether that is attending a local dawn service, or gathering a group of friends or family to watch the football and having a quiet moment of reflection during the pre-game service – it’s important that we reflect on the contributions service members both past and present have made for our way of life today.

“We’re incredibly proud to see the Gold Coast SUNS once again embrace the ANZAC spirit by donning a special guernsey for the ANZAC Round.

“This guernsey is symbolic of the sacrifices made by current and ex-serving Defence members, and we’re honoured that the SUNS are once again eager to show their support for the veteran community.”

Limited supply of the 2025 ANZAC guernsey is now available be available for purchase via the SUNS Shop.

Match-worn and player issued guernseys will also be auctioned following the match with all proceeds to be donated to RSL Queensland and the 2025 ANZAC Appeal.
