  • Media release

RSL Queensland held its Annual General Meeting at the organisation’s State Congress today and has voted in favour of constitution changes, paving the way for a skills-based board. This includes the introduction of four, newly created skills-based board director roles.

RSL Queensland State President Major General Stephen Day DSC AM, welcomed the decision members voted in favour of today.

“These changes have been designed and proposed to help ensure that our board is equipped with the best people and capability to appropriately govern our organisation and represent the needs of our members and the veteran community. The majority vote that was received in support of these changes will help to benefit all of our members across Queensland.”

“To fill these skill-based roles, we will be seeking nominations from our member base for suitably qualified individuals from our veteran community. We intend to have this process completed and appointments made on the 28th of October.”

More information on the skills-based board positions and nomination process can be found here.
