RSL Queensland Members Celebrated in King’s Birthday 2023 Honours List

The King’s Birthday 2023 Honours List recognises and celebrates 1,192 recipients, including 622 people the Medal of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to their community, and 19 recipients of awards in the Military Division of the Order of Australia.

This year, 157 Queenslanders were recognised for their outstanding contributions in their fields and for ongoing service to communities across Queensland.  

Congratulations to all RSL Queensland members who have been recognised in the King’s first Birthday Honours.  

It is an incredible achievement to be bestowed the highest recognition for your service to the community, veterans and their families.

  • Brigadier Ashley Raymond Collingburn DSMfor exceptional performance of duty as Director Sensitive and Strategic Issues Management – Army, Commander 1st Brigade, and as the Global Interest Branch Head, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. 
  • Major General Michael Cowen KC for exceptional service as Chief Judge Advocate of the Australian Defence Force. 
  • Brigadier Warren Mark Gouldfor exceptional service to the ADF’s command and control framework as Director General Joint Command and Control and Director General Systems and Integration – Army. 

 

MEDAL (OAM) IN THE MILITARY DIVISION OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA 

  • Major Francisco Vamarasi Aisakefor meritorious service in advancing the Regional Force Surveillance Group capability, enhancing Army's contribution to the national Closing the Gap strategy, and strengthening Defence Force partnerships in the Pacific.
  • The late Mr David John Phillips, Formerly of East Brisbanefor service to the community through service organisations.
