Starting with Prime Minister Stanley Bruce in 1925, many Australian leaders have shown support for Queensland RSL News.
As we celebrate the centenary of our member magazines, we take a moment to reflect with pride on the unwavering support our publications have received from Australia’s leaders over the years. This special centenary edition begins with messages of recognition and encouragement from two Prime Ministers, past and present.
In the inaugural issue of The Queensland Digger, published on 15 April 1925, then-Prime Minister Stanley Bruce wrote a letter commending RSL Queensland for fostering comradeship and providing "a great and noble service to Australia."
Today, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s message acknowledges Queensland RSL News as a vital source of connection and advocacy for veterans and their families, a testament to its enduring role in the lives of many.
We are grateful for the continued backing of Australia’s leaders, both past and present, which highlights the importance of our mission to assist veterans and their families.
