RSL Employment Program Terms and Conditions

The RSL Employment Program Terms and Conditions outlines the specific rules, terms and conditions of the RSL Employment Program Service.  These are in addition to the terms specified in the RSL Queensland Client Services Agreement.

The RSL Employment Program is a partnership between you and RSL Queensland.  To assist a successful experience in the program, the service requires a commitment from both parties.

Your participation in the service is immediate acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

RSL Employment Program Overview:

The RSL Employment Program strives to secure clients into meaningful engagement through connections to employers, upskilling and connections to vocational industry providers, overseen by RSL Queensland, based on client needs. 

Furthermore, RSL Queensland acknowledges there may be a requirement to provide a referral for potential participation in either Department of Veterans’ Affairs work rehabilitation programs or additional clinical support through Open Arms, whilst you are accessing the RSL Queensland Employment Program.

 

Eligibility:

Current serving Defence members

A current full-time serving member of the regular ADF must:

  • Be a resident of a participating state;
  • Have a confirmed discharge date;
  • Have exhausted all Defence Force Transition Program (DFTP) entitlements; and
  • Not be currently in a DVA Work Rehabilitation Program.

Ex-serving Defence members

An ex-serving member of the regular ADF must:

  • Be a resident of a participating state;
  • Not be currently in regular employment;
  • Served at least one day continuous full time service (CFTS);
  • Have exhausted all Defence Force Transition Program (DFTP) entitlement and attended the Job Search Preparation Workshop; and
  • Not be currently in a DVA Work Rehabilitation Program or Veterans’ Vocational Rehabilitation Scheme (VVRS).

Defence partners

A veteran’s partner must:

  • Be a resident of a participating state and have Australian Residence status;
  • Not be currently in regular employment;
  • Be married or the de facto partner of a current or ex-serving ADF member who has served at least one day of continuous full time service (CFTS)

The RSL Employment Program is a multi-faceted program with various vocational services created to suit various levels of employment need.  The determination of level of service engagement is at the absolute discretion of RSL Queensland and you acknowledge that you have no right to challenge any decision as to whether you are able to engage in any part of the RSL Employment Program.

 

Our obligations to you:

  • We will support you within the program’s service level framework and respond to you in a timely manner;
  • We will ascertain your needs and allocate an industry provider to support you in your career journey;
  • We will be there to help and listen to your employment goals.

 

Your obligations:

  • You will actively participate in the program, respond in a timely manner to the RSL Queensland staff member and complete any activities to the best of your ability and in a timely manner;
  • You declare that any information submitted during the RSL Employment Program is true and complete in all respects;
  • You will complete and return all relevant documentation required to engage in the program, including but not limited to authority to act forms and consent to share data with industry partners in a timely manner;
  • You will stay in contact with us and advise of any changes to your personal situation as they relate to the program;
  • You will take responsibility for yourself and the results of any decisions you make.

 

Costs, Charges and Service Termination:

  • RSL Queensland does not charge a fee for the RSL Employment Program.  However, in some instances where additional training and development is required after completing the program, you may need to cover or contribute to costs.  This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis with you.  You are under no obligation to undertake the training and development service;
  • You may cease using this service or any of RSL Queensland services at any time and for any reason by giving us written notice;
  • We may cease providing you with this service, and any other RSL Queensland services if you do not comply to the Terms and Conditions of this service or any other service you are undertaking with RSL Queensland and/or the terms set out in the RSL Queensland Client Services Agreement; and
  • RSL Queensland will not accept any responsibility for any misunderstanding arising from failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions or the terms specified in the RSL Queensland Client Services Agreement.
