Sandgate Sub Branch Inc.
Introduction
Sandgate RSL offers a warm welcome to veterans in the local area. We are a Not-for-Profit, volunteer-based group that primarily delivers advocacy and welfare for the serving and ex-serving members of the community and their families. These programs are delivered to veterans by promoting the Objects of the League utilising practical and personal interaction that is tailored to individual and collective needs. The Sub Branch steadfastly promotes inclusiveness, fellowship and empathy and is passionate in the provision of targeted and timely services to our members. The Sub Branch itself has no funding stream and relies on grants and the goodwill of volunteers to deliver these much needed programs.
The Sandgate Sub Branch is part of the Brisbane North District of RSL Queensland.
History
The Sandgate RSL Sub Branch Inc. has been in continuous operation since it was established in 1923 and has established itself as an integral part of the community. It operates as a “traditional” Sub Branch with no attached club. From our earliest years, we’ve been providing assistance and social connection to local ex-service and currently serving ADF personnel. The Sub Branch has a particular focus on prevention of mental health issues caused by isolation and lack of connectedness.
