Samford Sub Branch Inc.
Introduction
Samford Sub Branch operates a PAWS office five days per week from 9am to about noon. We have a property situated in Main Street, Samford Village and are classified as a ‘traditional’ Sub Branch without a bar or dining facilities. The Samford Sub Branch is part of the Brisbane North District of RSL Queensland.
History
The Sub Branch was originally formed in 1947 and managed to obtain sufficient funds to purchase 5 small blocks of land in Samford. After the closing of the railway to Samford the Sub Branch lost most of its members and was forced to close, with the land being transferred in trust to Gaythorne RSL. After the reformation of the Sub Branch in 1989 the land was transferred back to Samford.
Information
Samford Sub Branch has three trained Advocates and two trainees. This team is able to assist veterans with welfare enquiries and application to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Please call 07 3289 6928 to make an appointment, or email samfordwelfare@rslqld.org
