Barcaldine ANZAC Day Dawn Service
As the name suggests, the Dawn Service begins just before dawn, with the sun rising as it draws to a close. The timing is likely based on the fact that the ill-fated landing on the Gallipoli peninsula began at dawn.
Steeped in tradition and protocol, the Dawn Service is particularly poignant, featuring the laying of wreaths, sounding of the Last Post and observance of a minute silence.
Join us to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australian service people in every war and conflict since World War I.
Following the Dawn Service there will be a gunfire breakfast in the Shire Hall Supper Room.
