At the Annual General Meeting on 22 June 2019, the motion to adopt the draft 2019 Constitution was defeated.
The first draft Constitution was made available to all members for review in November 2018, and State President Tony Ferris visited all Districts and many Sub Branches to listen to feedback and answer questions about the document.
Feedback received during this extensive consultation process was taken into consideration while preparing the final draft, which was published in February to allow Sub Branches the time needed to review it carefully before the AGM.
Despite this consultation process, it’s clear there were still concerns held by a proportion of our delegates that prevented them endorsing its adoption, and it’s important that your RSL Queensland Board understands and can consider these issues carefully.
This is why we’re asking Sub Branches that voted against the Constitution to document their concerns so we can address them.
Using the Constitution feedback form below, let us know what aspects of the draft Constitution you are concerned about by 31 August, and your feedback will be directed to the Constitution Working Party for consideration and response.
Once we have received your feedback we will be able to advise what steps the Board will take.
