The True Story of the S.A.S. in Afghanistan
After 9/11 our Nation sent the Aussie S.A.S. into harm’s way to protect us. 25 years later, their suffering continues. The S.A.S. now tell their story of what really happened in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Featuring exclusive, never before seen interviews with officers and soldiers of the S.A.S.. As Prime Ministers Rudd, Howard and Abbott tell for the first time what they knew; and the brave pilots of the American Army reveal what they saw.
Most heartbreaking of all are the stories by the wives, mothers, widows, and children left behind.
This is their story, in their words, of the S.A.S. in the War on Terror.
Light refreshments will be available prior to the screening, and the bar will be open throughout the evening for guests wishing to purchase beverages.
Bravery and Betrayal explores the experiences of Australian veterans and raises awareness of the challenges many face during and after their military service. It is a compelling and thought-provoking documentary that encourages meaningful discussion about the support and recognition our veterans deserve.
We believe this evening presents a valuable opportunity for community leaders, elected representatives, RSL members, veterans and their families, serving personnel, and supporters to come together in recognition of those who have served our nation and to engage in important conversations about veteran wellbeing.
Bootstraps (a veteran owned and operated charity) will also have a small display of their wares and information on their upcoming leather works classes.
Your attendance would be greatly appreciated and would demonstrate your ongoing support for our veteran community.
To assist with catering, we kindly ask that you RSVP by Monday, 17 August 2026, by replying by email to subgatton@bigpond.com or messaging the Gatton RSL Sub Branch.
We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be an informative and meaningful evening.
