Rec Connect – Highfields Pioneer Village Tour

RSL Rec Connect – Meet, move and make for a more connected life!

RSL Rec Connect helps veterans and their families connect through a diverse calendar of recreational events. RSL Rec Connect events are held throughout the year in various locations across Queensland. ADF veterans, current serving Defence members, partners and children are welcome to this event.  

Step back in time at Highfields Pioneer Village with a guided group tour filled with history, demonstrations and classic country hospitality. Enjoy a puppet show, traditional Billy Tea and Damper, visits to the Transport, Fire and Light Horse Museums, a BBQ lunch, a ride on a vintage bus, and unique attractions like the Big Cow. Following the conclusion of the group tour at 2.30pm, you are welcome to head home or continue exploring the village at your own pace, with the village open until 4pm. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other members of the defence community, learn and enjoy a nostalgic day out in a welcoming, country setting.

Requirements: 

•  Open to ADF veterans, current serving Defence members, partners and children. Children must be attending with a supervising adult.

Cost: Free   

Please note that prior to the event, you will be required to complete an RSL QLD waiver. All attendees will be unable to participate without completing the waiver.
