Malanda Remembrance Day Service

On Tuesday 11 November, join Malanda RSL Sub Branch for its 2025 Remembrance Day service to honour all who have served and sacrificed for their nation. 

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting with Germany in World War I. It’s a time for us to remember all who have given their lives in service, including in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. 

The 2025 Malanda RSL Sub Branch Remembrance Day ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post, and the observance of a minute's silence at 11am.  

RSL Queensland stands alongside veterans and their families across the country and recognises the invaluable contribution of all Defence Force personnel. 

Remembrance Day commemorations to mark the 107th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice in the Compiègne Forest in 1918.

The Sub Branch will be conducting a twilight vigil to coincide with the time the Armistice came into effect at 1100 hrs. (Paris Time) ending the hostilities on the Western Front.

Timings for the service:

• 1700 (5.00pm) BBQ and Camaraderie
• 1830 (6.30pm) Take your seats
• 1840 (6.40pm) Service commences
• 1915 (7.15pm) Service concludes
