Join us to commemorate
At dawn on 25 April 1915, ANZAC troops landed at Gallipoli, starting a legacy that would live long after them.
The ANZAC Day Dawn Service echoes this moment, and the moment many a soldier has stood to arms.
Steeped in tradition, the Dawn Service is a poignant ceremony featuring the laying of wreaths, sounding of the Last Post and observance of a minute's silence.
Join the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in MACLEAY ISLAND – hosted by Macleay Island RSL Sub Branch – to honour all Australians and New Zealanders who have served or sacrificed in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations since World War I.
The Catafalque Party will be manned by current members of the Australian Defence Force, supported by students from Macleay Island State School. Members of the SMBI Outriggers will conduct a dawn vigil on the water in front of the Cenotaph at Pat's Park whilst the service is underway.
Students from Macleay Island State School, and many people from the local community will be laying wreaths at the Cenotaph, with the local community playing a major role in the commemoration service.
All are welcome to attend.
