Free event for Veterans and their families.
EcoConnect: Veterans in Nature is a relaxed, family-friendly afternoon designed for veterans and their families to reconnect with nature and each other. Guided by experienced ECOllaboration educators, participants will explore a local creek through a hands-on water-bug discovery session, enjoy a gentle forest walk focused on listening to birds and slowing body and mind, and unwind with a shared BBQ dinner.
As dusk falls, the experience concludes with a twilight frog walk, observing and listening for local frog species in their natural habitat. These simple, engaging activities draw on the proven benefits of time in nature to reduce stress, support wellbeing, and foster meaningful connection.
This small-group event offers a welcoming space to slow down, explore, and thrive outdoors in line with the goals of Veterans’ Health Week: Connect, Move, Nourish, Thrive
Proudly supported by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
