Meet the author of the book 'On Radji Beach'.
In addition to our annual commemorative service honouring the courage and sacrifice of our nurses, we are delighted to announce a special luncheon to be held on Saturday, 7th February, at the United Services Club, Brisbane. This event will complement our traditional Sunday Service at St Augustine’s Church, Hamilton, on 8th February.
We are honoured to have Mr Ian Shaw, author of "On Radji Beach", as our guest speaker at the luncheon. What a privilege it is to welcome him to Brisbane to share his inspirations — why he wrote the book, what it means to him personally, and how the details of his investigation have affected him. This is truly a wonderful opportunity to hear firsthand from the author of this moving account.
Please mark your diaries for these important dates — Saturday, 7th February and Sunday, 8th February — as we come together to say “thank you” to those whose suffering and leadership paved the way for the peace we enjoy today.
The luncheon is open to all who share an interest in the history of Australian Nursing in Defence, so please spread the word widely. Let’s make this weekend the ultimate expression of gratitude — a heartfelt “thank you” to those who endured so much on our behalf.
