ANZAC Day Civic Service

Join the main 2026 ANZAC Day service in Bundaberg Central to honour the service and sacrifice of the ANZACs and all the service members who have followed in their footsteps. 

ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I. 

In the time-honoured tradition of ANZAC Day services, the main Bundaberg Central ANZAC Day Ceremony – hosted by Bundaberg RSL Sub Branch – will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post and the observance of a minute's silence.

The ANZAC Day Civic Service in Bundaberg is the region's main commemorative event, held mid-morning for those who wish to pay their respects after the early Dawn Service.

It features a full military parade and a formal ceremony at ANZAC Park.

2026 Civic Service Schedule

• Main Parade Assembly: 8:30 am at the Targo to Tantitha Street end of the CBD.

• March Start: 8:50 am – The parade moves through the heart of the city, led by veterans, current ADF personnel, and local schools.

• Civic Service: 9:00 am at ANZAC Park.

• Duration: Approximately 60 minutes.

What to Expect

The Parade: A powerful display of local pride featuring the Bundaberg Municipal Band, vintage military vehicles, and hundreds of marching students and community groups.

The Ceremony: Includes traditional hymns, the reading of the ANZAC Requiem, a keynote address by a guest speaker, and the official wreath-laying ceremony.

Flypast: Pending RAAF availability, a ceremonial flypast often occurs during the march or the start of the service.

Attendee Information

• Seating: Limited seating is available at ANZAC Park for veterans and the elderly. It is highly recommended to bring a folding chair if you plan to stay for the full service.
