    The King's Birthday 2026 Honours List

    Congratulations to all who have been recognised in The King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List for their exceptional service to the community.

    The King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List recognised 949 Australians for their outstanding work, dedication and commitment to serving their local community. This included awards in the Order of Australia (General and Military Divisions), meritorious awards and recognition for distinguished and conspicuous service.  

    This year, 142 Queenslanders were recognised for their significant contribution to their communities across the state including eight RSL Queensland members who were awarded either the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) or Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for service to veterans and their families, and the community, including:   

    Member of the Order of Australia (AM):

    • Mr Howard William Hobbs, Roma QLD – For significant service to the people and Parliament of Queensland, and to the community.

    Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division:   

    • Mr Christopher Edward Burgess, Nevilton QLD – For service to veterans and their families.

    • Mr John Sydenham Custance, Southport QLD – For service to surf lifesaving.

    • Mrs Florence Drury, QLD – For service to the community through a range of roles.

    • Mr Mark Anthony Neave, QLD – For service to youth.

    • Mr Kenneth John Roma, QLD – For service to veterans.

    • Mr Charles James Sherrin, Birkdale QLD – For service to veterans and their families.

    • Mrs Karen Anne Wallwork, Beachmere QLD – For service to community history.
