23 June 2026
Delegates from across Queensland came together on Saturday 20 June for the 2026 State Congress and Annual General Meeting (AGM). The event provided members with the opportunity to actively participate in Business Sessions, contribute to the AGM and hear valuable insights from a range of speakers.
This year’s sessions reinforced the importance of RSL Queensland and its Sub Branches continuing to place veterans at the centre of everything we do. Throughout the day, delegates also heard from Commissioner Penny McKay on how the Defence and Veterans’ Services Commission is supporting veterans and their families, as well as updates from a number of RSL Sub Branches on their work building camaraderie within their local community.

Peter Tinley AM, RSL Australia National President was also in attendance to present the 2026 ANZAC of the Year Awards to Douglas Henderson OAM and Tony Stevenson OAM. The 2026 ANZAC Peace Prize will be presented to Lieutenant Colonel George Hulse OAM at a later date as LTCOL Hulse was unfortunately unable to join us on the day.
