A number of veterans and RSL Queensland members have been recognised for their outstanding service to the community.
2025 Australia Day Honours List
The Australia Day 2025 Honours List has recognised 732 Australians for their exceptional service in their local communities. This includes 457 recipients in the General Division of the Order of Australia, 196 recipients of the Meritorious awards, 25 in the Military Division of the Order of Australia and 51 in the Distinguished and Conspicuous awards.
Amongst the 2025 recipients, 101 individuals from across Queensland were honoured for their outstanding contributions.
Congratulations to the RSL Queensland members who have been named in the Australia Day 2025 Honours List.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division
- Gary Lex Gibson, Springfield Lakes – for service to veterans, and to the community.
- Jennifer Marian Waldron, Bullyard – for service to veterans.
RSL Queensland would also like to recognise Founder and President of 42 for 42, Sean Mulqueen who was also awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for service to veterans and their families.

2025 Australia Day Achievement Medallions
This year, as part of the 2025 Australia Day Achievement Medallion awarded by RSL Australia 14 recipients from RSL Queensland were recognised for the exceptional work that they do within the RSL community.
The Australia Day Achievement Medallion allows Commonwealth agencies to acknowledge individuals for their contribution to the nation and their outstanding performance.
This year’s recipients have gone above and beyond, providing loyal and dedicated service to their communities.
RSL Queensland recipients:
- Barbara Farren-Price, St Helen’s RSL Sub Branch – for outstanding contributions to St Helen’s RSL Sub Branch and the local community.
- Barry Vains OAM, RSL Central Queensland District – for exceptional service and contribution to RSL Central Queensland District.
- Bruce Alladice, Cunnamulla RSL Sub Branch – for outstanding commitment and service to veterans and the Cunnamulla community.
- Christopher Silvester, Mudgeeraba-Robina RSL Sub Branch – for outstanding commitment as a Wellbeing Advocate and supporting veterans and their families.
- Deborah Scott-Ranson, RSL Queensland State Branch – for outstanding contributions to RSL Queensland Sub Branches through her fundraising efforts.
- Graeme Davis, Tiaro RSL Sub Branch – for exceptional commitment and service to the veteran community.
- Ian Gray, RSL South Eastern District – for exceptional volunteer work and enduring commitment to the community.
- John and Naomi Enchong, RSL Sunshine Coast & Regional District – for their remarkable dedication and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the veteran community.
- John Eyles, Bowen RSL Sub Branch – for exceptional volunteer service to the ABC Club and Bowen RSL Sub Branch.
- Judy Alterator, RSL South Eastern District – for exemplary service and enduring commitment to RSL South Eastern District.
- Karron Carney, Ipswich Railway RSL Sub Branch – for exceptional dedication and service to Ipswich Railway RSL Sub Branch, and supporting younger veterans and their families.
- Kenneth Roma, Kedron-Wavell RSL Sub Branch – for his commitment to engaging local school children in commemoration and service to the veteran community.
- Lloyd Williams, Weipa RSL Sub Branch – for outstanding volunteer work.
- Louise Swanborough, RSL Queensland State Branch – for outstanding contribution to membership management.
