Introduction
The Stanthorpe Sub Branch is part of the Western District of RSL Queensland.
The purpose of the Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch is to honour the fallen, reach out to veteran's young and old, provide information, welfare and support, and to notify veteran's and their families of upcoming events.
History
The Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch was established by the Stanthorpe veteran community in 1918 and has operated under the umbrella of the Returned and Services League or one of iterations since that time. It became an incorporated entity in 1981 and with a change in the Act has been registered with ACNC since 3 December 2012.
Our building, the Lena White House, was officially opened on 9 December 2018.
Information
Office Hours: 10am to 12pm, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Drop-In Centre: Open every Friday from 10am
Monthly Board Meeting - held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1pm (Sub Branch)
Annual General Meeting - held the 4th Sunday in March at 2pm (RSL Services Club)
Women's Auxiliary Monthly Meeting - held the 2nd Monday at 11:30am (Drop-In Centre)
Commemorative Days
- ANZAC Day Dawn Service - 5:30am at the War Memorial in Weeroona Park, Marsh Street followed by Gunfire Breakfast at the RSL Services Club.
- ANZAC Day Parade - commences at 10:30am at the corner of Folkestone and Maryland Streets through to the War Memorial in Weeroona Park.
- Vietnam Veterans' Day - 11am service at the War Memorial in Weeroona Park, Marsh Street.
- Remembrance Day - the service prepares for commencement at 10:45am at the War Memorial in Weeroona Park, Marsh Street.
