Remembrance Day Service - Surfers Paradise

Join the Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch to commemorate.

On Wednesday 11 November, join Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch for its 2026 Remembrance Day service to honour all who have served and sacrificed for their nation.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting with Germany in World War I. It’s a time for us to remember all who have given their lives in service, including in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

The 2026 Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch Remembrance Day ceremony will include the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post, and the observance of a minute's silence at 11am.

RSL Queensland stands alongside veterans and their families across the country and recognises the invaluable contribution of all Defence Force personnel.

Join the Surfers Paradise RSL Sub Branch at the Cenotaph in Cavill Park on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, as we pause to honour the service and sacrifice of all Australian and Allied personnel who served in war, conflict and peacekeeping operations. The service begins at 10:45am, with a meet and greet from 10:15am, and includes a Catafalque Party and Flag Bearers from TS Tyalgum Naval Cadets, a Guest Address by Cherisa Pearce, Deputy President of RSL Queensland, and a Wreath Laying Ceremony. It also features a recitation of In Flanders Fields by a Surfers Paradise State School captain, followed by the Last Post and One Minute’s Silence. Veterans, serving members, families and the wider Gold Coast community are warmly invited to attend, and guests are welcome to join us afterwards for fellowship at Club Paradise.
