Veterans who need subsidised, independent living in Far North Queensland may be able to apply for long-term accommodation at the award-winning Warhaven complex in Cairns.
Warhaven's purpose-built apartments contain:
- studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom arrangements
- open-plan living, kitchen and dining areas
- one bathroom
- reverse-cycle air-conditioning
- covered outdoor area.
Residents also have access to a number of communal areas, including:
- library
- community garden
- BBQ facilities
- craft room.
Only 3km from the centre of Cairns and right next door to the Botanic Gardens, Warhaven is within easy reach of shops, cafes and restaurants, doctors, public transport and other amenities.
If you have served in the ADF and can live independently, you are eligible to apply for a unit at Warhaven.
Housing is allocated on a needs basis, with consideration given to your financial circumstances.
