Supporting your local community: A message from the State President

As we celebrate the 37th annual National Volunteer Week, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you.
    Volunteer
    From the President

Here at RSL Queensland, we’re fortunate to have tens of thousands of members across the state who generously volunteer their time to giving back to their community.

I am proud of the work you do in every corner of the state and the time you give to provide local services, programs and commemorations that truly support veterans and their families.

What you contribute cannot be measured in hours or tasks. It is measured in presence. In the reassurance given to someone who felt alone. In the patience shown to someone who needed a helping hand or someone to talk to. In the small, unseen acts that that truly matter.

Whether you help run an RSL Sub Branch, support behind the scenes, hand out programs at a commemorative service, fundraise at the local shopping centre or simply show up whenever you’re needed – we are grateful for all that you do.

You are a crucial part of ensuring we’re here for all veterans and their families after service.

Volunteering is an act of care. It’s choosing to show up for others, often without recognition, and still doing it with generosity and grace. We can only achieve our mission because of you: our members, who step up day after day, year after year, advocating for veterans and making a difference in the lives of so many.

So, this National Volunteer Week, I want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you for your commitment and your continued support of all those within the veteran community.
