    At dawn on 25 April 1915, ANZAC troops landed at Gallipoli, starting Australia and New Zealand’s first major action in World War I.  

    No victory followed. Many thousands lost their lives. But the ANZACs’ courage, endurance and mateship set an example that continues to inspire and unite their nations.
