Gatton Sub Branch Inc.
Introduction
The Gatton Sub Branch is part of the Moreton District of RSL Queensland.
Being a part of RSL Queensland, our Sub Branch mission and objectives are to support RSL Queensland in any way we can to provide the best of care for all veterans and their families, both current and ex-serving, to align with their mission and objectives.
Our Sub Branch is still operational and has never closed since its opening in 1945. We did operate a services club which was a completely separate entity to the Sub Branch. The services club closed its doors on 24 June 2017.
The Sub Branch still operates and is currently open to service and ex-service members, their families and the wider community for morning tea every Wednesday morning from 9:30am until 11:00am, where tea and coffee are available with some biscuits, cake and light refreshments. We are now also open on Friday afternoons from 4:30pm until 6:30pm where light refreshments as well as nibbles and a weekly meat tray raffle will be available.
We have an extensive reading library within the club, which was set up by many of the veterans in our Sub Branch. A majority of the books were provided by other Sub Branches within the Lockyer Valley and Ipswich area, with the rest being kindly donated by our members. It is available during opening hours and members can have a browse or sit down and have a read in a relaxed environment.
We are always looking for new service members to join our Sub Branch and be part of our great team to help keep it alive for the next century and beyond.
